FLAMENCO SHOW
Every year in the beginning of november, we organise our flamenco show, in the casa de cultura in Alfaz del Pi, year after year it is a big succes where about 400 people join us to see the fantastic show of Juan Carlos Avecilla, a group, that comes over from Madrid for one night only, to give us a magical night!
GOLF TOURNAMENT
In april and may we organise our golf tournaments witch are also every year a big succes,many people come and join us to play, if you are interested to come over and play let us know.....
MIDSUMMER BEACH PARTY
Around the 20th of june, our club also organises the Midsummer beach party at the beach front of Albir, we have a lot of different acts on stage who give the best of themselfs, we have a bar and foodstand for our guests, and lot's of space to dance the night away......
INTERNATIONAL DAY ALFAZ DEL PI
In october de townhall organises the International day, on this day all the organisations in town and also all the different nationalities take part on this day, also we are standing there to promote our club and charities, and it is a big party aswell because all the different country's serve their typical food and drinks, and also bring their folk dance.
YOUTH EXTCHANGE CAMP
Every year Lions International is organising their Yout Exchange Camp, all young people between the age of 18 and 20 years of age travel around the globe, together with several other clubs in our district we are also involved in this youth camp. About 20 young people stay for 3 weeks on the costa blanca. The first week they stay with their host family and the following 2 weeks they stay all together in Collegio Lope de Vega, every day we organize different activities with this youngsters, we make trips to different places, go to theme parks, do games with them and much more.....
The meaning of this camp is bringing different nationalities and religions together so these young people experience how different people live in other country's, and to bring respect amoungst eachother.
SAN NICOLAS
On the 5th of december the good holy man comes to Alfaz del Pi to give the kids of the community some sweets and listen's to them what they want for presents and if they have been good the past year, san nicolas or Sint Nicolaas is a very well known tradition in The Netherlands and Belgium.
The dutch and belgian community in alfaz know that the good holy man will come every year and it is now also a tradition in Alfaz del Pi for all the spanish children.
Another yearly event we organise with our club and it is every year a big succes.
Peace poster contest
Every year the Lions International organisation organise the peace poster contest in November, where kids between the age of 11 and 13 year can participate. First there will be a vote by the local club for the local winner. The drawnig will then be send to the gouverner and hopefully will be elected to send to America, wher there will also be a voting for the best drawnig from all the first place drawnings they recieve from all over the world.
The winner will win a price in money and also a journey to the United States.
With our club we don't forget about the other drawnings the kids made and put them on a display in the town, so everyone can enjoy the beautifull works they made, after we placed them on a display, we offer the drawnings in a sort of auction, and with the donations for these drawnings we support the local food bank.
The students are every year looking forward to participate in this wonderfull project.
